They told me words have power
They said words can build mansions and empires
They said it can destroy great civilizations
It maybe a sentence or a phrase even a clause
Words have power they told me in my young years.
And did I believe words have power?
Sure I did and still do
For once I said I was poor and became poor
I once told myself I was weak and I turned week
Nothing moved me save the very words I baptized my soul
And thus I came to know words indeed have power.
O, words have power
Faith comes by the activation of words
Hope by right choice of wise constructions
Love, peace and beauty too
Words really have power and words are powerful.
Once upon a time a blind said he could see and so he saw
Once upon a time a deaf claimed he can hear the softest sound and he heard God
Once upon a time a dumb said he could speak and he called the Azan
Words are all and words are powerful!
The wise men that lived long ago before the stars were born
They have said words are powerful
So I am careful to bless my soul daily
To speak good and positive into my spirit always
That I may love where there is hatred
That I may smile where there are frowns
That I may share joy even in the midst of sorrow
And live where death is glorified with honor
For I know words are powerful.
I won't curse but blessings will be my language
I won't condemn but mercy will be my breath
I won't slander or murmur evil in my prayer as I pray
Because I know the power of words.
They told me words are powerful
That I may say same to you now
So you watch what you tell friends out there
So you mind what you say to enemies too
Even to the children that are yours and not yours
And more so to yourself as you step out everyday
Words have power and they are truly powerful.
