A beautiful update just hit town. It is not for us. I shouldn't have it brought to your notice in the first place because it is not for us, rather, it is for the whales. Very Awesome feature but not for us. The new power down slider button. This really good feature saves the whales (not us) powering down 1/13th of their steem power thereby allowing them the freedom to choose the exact amount of steem power they wish to power down per week as explained by

Please do not get me wrong, anyone can actually decide to power down his or her steem power at any time. I could even teach those who don't know how to power down but since i don't encourage anyone to do so, i will rather teach you to power up.We are getting there though, for now let me tell you why it is such a bad idea and why i said i know i should not have brought the topic up though i still did. I am sorry about that, i just had to mention it because we all need to understand the need to "power up more". Even madam
WHY DO WE EVEN NEED STEEM POWER?
I will try to break it to the simplest term as possible. Now see, unless you don't want to become a whale, become a successful and influential steemian, then you don't need steem power. Do you want to be a role model to newbies? If you nodded a yes, you need as plenty steem power as possible.
Check this out. Steem Power (SP) determines your voting power when curating (voting for posts/comments). This is to say the more steem power you accumulate, the more weight you vote has, the more value your vote gives. You can't transfer it anytime like the Steem Backed Dollars (SBD) but it can be converted to Steem through the powering down process (not advisable for minnows).
We can also say that Steem power is the Power that steems/steams energy into the steemit community. prettycynthia 2017 (Oh Lord!)
HOW TO POWER UP MORE
Yes! i will gladly teach you this one. (never knew teaching can be this sweet....steemit i thank you o haha) Now, you need to know the rewards you earn from posting and voting good contents are split 50/50 to your wallet as Steem Power and SBD, that is why you wake up everyday to see you SP is increasing. Thumbs up, you are already accumulating, keep steeming.
You can however, invest in steem power by simply purchasing STEEM from bittrex (you will have to register an account with them if you don't have already) or converting your SBD to STEEM then powering up.( This one is for us). It is a very simple process. Hey! are you convinced? If you ask me if you should really power up it is a loud Yes.

simple steps...
First you go to>"Wallet" when it opens>Click Steem>then Click Power Up
Enter the amount of steem you want to convert to SP> Again Click Power up
Feel free to laugh at my steem balance then send a tip (Wink)After you enter your prefered amount Click the faded POWER UP BUTTON as seen above will become sharper
Click to proceedEnter your Active Key or Master Password>Click Sign In
