Hello Steemit!
I wanted to share with all of you some of my journalistic work.
Nigeria is a country with a long and difficult history. For the documentary below, I met the Biafran community and their leader. They showed me a conflict that is going on up until now and has been ignored for a long time. I spoke to the UN, to a historian and to amnesty international. I received historic pictures from the AP and from Greenpeace. Some of the material is not easy to watch.
Only a few weeks after this documentary got published the Biafran leader Nnamdi Kanu got arrested in Nigeria, he was tortured and held prisoner without a declared reason. It took months until the European Union spoke up. Today Nnamdi Kanu is free and if you listen to my podcast about Yemen you hear the guy who is supporting the peace process also in Nigeria.
Sometimes it is so easy to look away. But if Europeans today complain that refugees are entering their countries, they should start to rethink their economic policies and how they treat another country's resources.
Thank you for caring.
And always dive a little deeper....
