Despite the challenges rocking and threatening the peaceful coexistence of ethnic groups in Nigeria, and different calls for divisions by different groups, Nigeria still remain ONE PEOPLE ONE NATION whose diversification will further bolster her unity instead of abrogating her existence.

Few amongst many nations of the world can withstand what my country has passed and is passing through.

Is it insecurity, terrorism, kidnapping, poverty, unemployment, fraud, corruption, vandalization of public and personal properties, breach of trust, injustice bad governance, or embezzlement of public funds?Nigeria still remains one people one nation, a nation that will continue to live beyond all odds, managing those situations to further strengthen the bond rather than allowing them to be reasons for her downfall.

The past leaders fought against division tooth and nail and never condoned anything that may mar our coexistence as a nation, the present leaders are not sleeping on their oars but act daily to combat whatever is it that may want to pose threat(s) to our unification and the leaders in the future will never subscribe to zoning, secession or any oneness bedevilling agitation as they won't allow the effort of past heroes to be in vain. Also, all these generation of leaders know that in unification lies our strength and when divided, we are powerless

What makes Nigeria a nation it is with fame, repute, landmark is different people with different culture and heritage. How these cultures are played and incorporated in the lifestyle of Nigerians as individual, group and nation at large make the country stands tall amidst her peers, a front-runner in Africa called "THE GIANT OF AFRICA".

The fact that Nigeria is the giant of Africa can never be erased or abhorred because of her population, her landmass, her giant stride as a unified whole despite many cultural groups (about 250 ethnic groups), her dignity, the landmarks of her citizens both in Africa and on the world scene, feats achieved by her citizens in all specialization of life and many more.

I'm a proud Nigerian who will never give up on her nation no matter her predicament. I so much believe in Nigeria as our national symbols keep giving me hope that Nigeria will get better and one day things will get back to shape. Some of which are
• The Coat of Arms on which there is an eagle telling me that Nigeria will continue to soar come what may and if Nigeria is soaring, she will get better one day and soar to the top where Providence has destined for her. Also the horses on the symbol talks about the dignity of the nation telling me that Nigeria will forever be esteemed and worthy of world recognition.

• National Anthem which has lyrics that inspires and reminds me of my duty to my fatherland. With these words, I know the time will come when the leaders and the led will not only sing with rhythm but wholeheartedly act the words therein. The anthem read thus:
Arise, O compatriots
Nigeria's call obey
To serve our fatherland
With love and strength and faith
The labour of our heroes past
Shall never be in vain
To serve with heart and might
One nation bound in freedom
Peace and unity.
•National Pledge which speaks about our allegiance to defend the unity of the country and not allow any separation with our whole strength. The pledge read thus
I pledge to Nigeria my country.
To be faithful, loyal and honest.
To serve Nigeria with all my strength.
To defend her unity, and uphold her honour and glory.
So help me God.

MY CALL TO FELLOW NIGERIANS

We all have a role to play to take Nigeria to that top will want and to make her attain that lofty height. If others are defying their pledge and compromising, don't join them but rather remain truthful/faithful to the course of making Nigeria a better place for you and I

Let's bury the hatchet and shun any form of discrimination that may clamour for division. We are one big family that should forever remain one. Remember that "UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL"

Let's join hands together to make Nigeria a better place and desist from any form of act that may deteriorate, disintegrate and mar our fatherland and the effort of all our heroes who fought selflessly.

Nigeria is blessed, let's tap into the blessing and remain GREAT PEOPLE GREAT NATION with no threat to our existence
