When the moon shows its full glory during full moon it is a great time to take some pictures of it and I already did this very often but also when the moon is only partially visible due to the shadow the earth creates on it pictures can be very interesting. A crescent moon can be very beautiful and depending on the moon phase it is more or less visible. The shaddow of the earth creates such a big contrast that only the enlighted part is visible. This is why usually full moon is the more interesting time to take some pictures of the moon, but depending on angle and time of the month I also like when the moon is only partially visible like on these pictures.
The moon is only visible because it reflects enough light from the sun back to earth and due to the fact that the shaddow of the earth on the moon moves and changes over time it is also one of the most interesting objects in space for us to observe.
