In My Elementary Years ..
When board of my academics I would get lost in my thoughts. I think most people called this daydreaming. I would daydream and completely lose track of time and what was being said in front of the class by the teacher. I did not keep a lot of my childhood sketches that I would doodle on the inside of my notebook or on the sides of my notes. I do however remember daydreaming of outer space, spacecraft, aliens, anything dealing with extra terrestrial activity.
For This Childhood Memory Entry ..
I wanted to quickly sketch something in a daydream sort of way. I’m not a big sketcher when it comes to Syfy so it looks a little elementary and I want to quickly sketch it as though I was back in the days of my youth. Although it is mediocre and content it brought back fond memories of school, friends, and days long gone by. If I had a do over, I don’t think I would change a thing. It all got me to where I am today… And a very happy place… And here with all of you!
Here Are My Progress Photos..
I started off with a quick pencil sketch of the ship. I decided to add a little guy, a little Martian, within the ship. Not sure he’s really cool looking but hey he’s driving a spaceship! I penciled in everything else as I would have if I was sitting in my chair in my elementary school class. I decided to add a few bubbles as though the spacecraft were powered by soap. I feel like this is something I would’ve thought up at an early age. Then a headlight so he could see through the darkness of space and of course a tail light so nobody hits him from behind. LOL. Other than that I believe he is leaving one world in order to explore another. I finished up with some shading and then outlining various details in ink.
Well There You Have It ..
I traveled back in time to some childhood memories from the days are used to doodle in my notebooks instead of actually taking notes. Somehow I survived and I’m able to eat and afford a place to stay given never really paying attention in school. By no way am I saying school is not cool (kids, pay attention)... But I survived!!!

About Me ~ The Artist
My art work incorporates a wide variety of subject matter, including landscape, seascape, cityscape, and still life images. My works are the product of a continuing process of exploration through which I seek to portray personal and visionary interpretations of my surroundings. My paintings are impressions of places and events from everyday life, an interpretation of my imagination, and personal responses to what I see and feel on a daily basis. More recently I have invested generous amounts of time into my landscape painting. I am surrounded by natural and man made beauty, which inherently presents itself in the tri-state area, and almost demands that I paint it.
Not everything is art. Art is not everything, but it comes close. Art is everywhere and all the time. Art makes you experience the beauty of the world, the people in it, and the places we call home. Art itself is so influential that it can tell stories, show feelings, and express passion or fury. Art exists in addition to language; expression of sensations and thoughts, revealing a way of thinking too subtle and delicate for words.
For me art requires love, honesty and perseverance. In return, it reveals some personal, non-analyzable, and creative untamed passion. For the public, art with its magnificent beauty, improves mood and health and builds better human beings and communities. It engages the intellect, softens the heart, strengthens the soul and frees the spirit.
