Why I choosed Tuncay Deniz's Art to exhibit?

He is one of my artist friend in İstanbul Turkey. We gather few times a year. We studied art in same highschool and university. We had a very traditional art training. As a curator this is why my eyes and knowledge accept his art. Ofcourse also you will like his drawing and painting skills (technique, lightining, composition, content) that i thought.

I asked him about "What is your style?" called. He replied me as "Expressionist, New Realism, Abstract, and Figurative synthesis". I agree with him with these definations.

The art of painting has always been of particular importance to me, and no object has been as specific and rich as the human body. Caravaggio's Matthew and the Angel (1602) was the first figurative work I ever encountered in my childhood. This work is the first example of my ongoing passion for drawing. The first day I saw in that painting, the way he told people, and the light effect. Today, this effect has influenced me more than ever and believing that the power of the line is superior in color, I have taken the subject in my paintings.

The fact that I was raised by the icons of Western Art during my art education, strengthened the sub-structure in my figure drawing and also led me to create a synthesis with the Far East Calligraphy Art and to combine my passion for painting with the art of painting.

Zen masters knew how to enlighten their experience of enlightenment and the enlightened nature of all existence in the arts, but avoided sacrificing the content they wanted to reflect in their art to the most external aspects of the work. As in the Diamond Sutra, 'All images made are unreal and false'. The works in question show a simplicity and spontaneity. It is intended to transfer non-transferable. Just like Mahara Buddyapa perceives the message that Buddha, who holds the lotus flower in his hand, wants to give.

Calligraphy in the Far East is considered the essence of painting. Until the 5th century in China, the painters were considered as craftsmen and calligraphers as real artists. The use of brush in calligraphy has made these two art branches dependent on each other and the basic measure of both branches is the quality of brush strokes. In the Far East calligraphy, the basic criterion is the balance of the gaps between the images and the balanced order within the images. These principles also form the basis of my paintings and composition.

You can see the quality of graphite pencil usage in black and gray tones. The realism in details and lighting are perfect. Images are very vivid but soft. In some of his works, I find it very contemporary to use Instagram Models as content and to work with his own technique.
