Job Description

Solidarity, wisdom, paradox, freedom, stability, gratitude, longevity, growth, peace of mind and sensory perception are part of the rhinoceros symbolism. Although it is a commission by my friend Jhonatam, I cannot overlook the sensitivity that this majestic animal produces for me. The rhinoceros does not have natural predators, however it is not alien to extinction, humans have destroyed it and continue to do so in massive quantities. The hunting of the adult by its horns and the destruction of its natural habitat, make it very difficult for it to be safe.

The idea

The process

This piece measures 100x70cm and is made of acrylic on canvas. The idea came from a commission for a friend and was to take as a reference a strong but vulnerable animal.

With a strong, uncomplicated stroke and cold colours, I wanted to represent the beauty of an endangered species. I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed the process of doing it.
