When your scenery is already dramatic.
There are moments in Light Painting when the quick test turns out nicely. This is one of the first set up test before the night actually started. In the background you see the remains of the blue hour.
What i loved was the dramatic clouds passing by. So strong winds did not allow for some smoke to play with.
The exposure time here was 80 second, the camera set to ISO 320. The structure was lit first in white to see the stair case and then to add some subtle color in red and green from the sides.
The "Rusty Nail" which is located in Brandenburg is about 30 meter tall and is used as a viewing plattform. If you want to know about the location for photography purposes you might like the following video.
