I'm happy to return to Steemit. And I wanted to celebrate my return to the platform with a good job (I was going to take the opportunity to participate in the "hand-made" Ntopaz contest, but I have been late due to the country's electrical situation.) This post is about the construction of the ship "The war timber". It is a boat built on the basis of recycling materials and natural materials. It took me a good amount of time to build it. This is the result, I hope you like it.
"The war timber"
I am sure you will be surprised to discover the materials that I used for the construction of this boat. It is a lot of simple materials, but together, formed this beautiful ship. In the course of the post you will see how I did it, and what materials I used.
Process
Structure of the boat
I joined two pieces of unicel to start working.
Next with sandpaper and a knife I sculpted the unicel.
With cardboard I made the details of the bow.
I used a branch as a bowsprit to give it a rustic look. With the branch and cardboard I made the bow of the boat.
With a cutter I cut some pieces of bamboo, cleaned them with a screw and had the ship's cannons ready.
With a marker, I made the marks of where the cannons would go. The hatches were made with the pods of a tree near my house. After applying a black background to the structure of the boat, I placed the hatches and the guns. You see how it started to look like a real boat?
I wanted to use bark to cover the ship's hull, and after a lot of searching, I got this branch with white bark, which would give the hull of the ship an aspect covered in saltpeter.
Then I was selecting piece by piece and covered it with bark.
I used a piece of brown folder, which had the perfect color for the floor of the boat. Before adding it, I opened the holes where the main sticks of the sails would go
With nails and an old chain, I made a kind of fence.
To decorate the back of the boat, I used this jewel that I bought in a store.
## Flats of the candles.
Front candle.
Side candles.
Central candle
Popa candle.
Additional candles
I cut the candles according to the plans, then I put oil in them to give them transparency and shape. I painted them with a brown chalk, to match the other colors of the boat, and then I devoted myself to fixing them on the larger sticks.
The main sticks are of the same material used for the cannons.
I set the sails, being very careful with the location, and to finish decorating the back of the boat, I used a coin and a button. Finally I tied the sails with the brown thread, and this way I got the final result
Result
Can you believe that those two simple pieces of unicel became "The war timber"? It should be noted that it was a totally handmade process. What do you think? You can leave your comment and support me with your vote if you wish. I am very sad at the same time, for having lost the opportunity to participate in the Ntopaz contest, due to the difficult electrical situation in my country, Venezuela, I could not upload it in time. But on top of that, I feel joy to come back to life on this beautiful platform.
