In the afternoon I finished the new illustration about plant: the wild hawthorn ( the Crataegus monogyna, in Italy we call it "Biancospino"). You can see the work in progress of this artwork here.
It's a beautiful plants with a lot of little white flowers and the fruits are similar to berries: small and red.
The fruits and the flowers are edible and they are used to make good jams and/or syrups, while the wood of this plant is a very strong wood and so it can be used to make different things.
The Crataegus monogyna is very common here in my area and it's good to take care of the heart.
The painting is an oil on 200 gsm paper in A4 size (my favorite surface to paint ^_^) and now it's ready to dry and to add it to the other wild plants I painted for the project Sensibilia.
I have to paint other (about) 30 wild plants until to the end of the year, but I like to create these kind of illustration, so stay tuned to see the other ones!
Good night to everyone and see ya soon,
Silvia
