Cephalopods are my new obsession.
It started with my galaxy colored cuttlefish which will soon become my version of Cthulhu thanks to Mansions of Madness, a Lovecraftian inspired board game. I wish I would’ve finished the drawing before the end of 
What is it that I love about cephalopods? Hmmm...maybe it’s the curve of their plump ballon like bodies and their funny looking eyes. It could be their movements that have me hypnotized and the way their tentacles dance in the sea. If I ever went diving and I got to see one of these critters then I could scratch that off my bucket list. Not sure if I’ll ever find myself in the ocean though..since I’m terrified of it.
Any who, I saw that ntopaz has an animal art contest out so I’m hoping to continue drawing with one of these studies. I think I’ve made my selection but I could be persuaded if anyone wants to help me chose!

While sketching this octopus I thought about how fascinating their movements are.
I’m gonna be honest by saying that I got a little hungry when I got to sketch my squid. I love eating calamari! 😆
