Don't have a high price, at least for now. But history is something that has a price. The story begins when a grandfather digs a land next to his house to plant a tree.
Less than a meter away he dug it, he felt there was something hard that had hit the tip of his hoe.
He was curious, and finally he dug slowly, he was afraid because it could be a bomb relic of the Aceh conflict about decades ago.
Apparently, unexpectedly, what he found was a box of metal coin-shaped. No doubt, it was an ancient coin, and the coin was believed to be one of the treasures of the Dutch period.
Made of Bronze
This coin is 1.5inch in diameter and made of bronze. Because of its age is very old, then I am a little difficult to take pictures, because I clean the coin without special equipment, just with ordinary water.
You can see this coin from the front side, there its written "VICTORIA QUEEN", a queen from the United Kingdom, you can read more on wikipedia link.
Back side written $1, was created in 1877
Bronze can be discolored, I see this coin surface, already moldy and become green, whereas bronze is almost the same as the gold color in general.
When looking at the year of making this coin, then we can be sure, that this coin is over 140 years old. While talking to a grandfather (who found this money) I called a friend, by chance he was a collector (Numismatics) who often collects currency that has historical value.
He said the coin with victoria queen's writing could be bought for $ 0.30 / chip. I convinced him not to sell it. Who knows in the future this coin will have a higher price.
The amount is 90 coins
He has counted all these coins, and kept it well. Total of all the coins found by a grandfather in my village amounted to 90pcs. And all have the same character. $1 in 1877.
