This was filmed live on location at the Williambsburg pier.
Scene 1
When we arrived in NYC, the first thing we had to do was find a place to park our Chevy Suburban at a rate of $100/day. The next step was to decide where to meet the mysterious @DougKarr. He suggested Gotan in Williamsburg. In order to do this we had to acquire these here MetroCards
I put $75 on each card just to be safe. We actually required assistance with purchasing these because the machine would only take cash. I had to go to a service window to do this. According to Google Maps, I headed to the 50th street subway station and took the C-train from Hell's Kitchen to the 14th street station. Then we walked to the L-Train and rode all the way to the Bedford Ave station. In about 10 minutes, we arrived at Gotan. Gotan is a small, hip coffee shop. It is by no means familty friendly. Every table is set for 2. My family of 6 had to innovative (we just kept standing). +2 minnie Doug Karr's arrived. We ate, drank coffee, and got acquainted...
Scene 2
Next scene takes place at the Williamsburg pier. We reluctantly inched our way toward the pier. Although unspoken, I believe
Scene 3 (deleted scene)
Remember those $75 MetroCards I purchase? They do not work on the NYC Ferry System. @DougKarr offered us 2 tickets for the and
to ride and the kids should have been able to ride for free. We were on a very short time budget so we rushed to the gate. When my oldest son
was denied access due to his height, the ferry worker attempted to slam the gate and it knocked my 3 year old to the ground. The Texan in me wanted to give him some work, put them hands on him, whoop his ass, light him up, and all that. I was so shocked, I didn't have words. Needless to say, we were able to get the tickets and head to DUMBO.
