A couple of nights ago asked what settings I use in OBS as he liked the stability and video quality of my @DLive stream. Hopefully this information will be helpful to him and others. Please let me know if you have any questions as results may vary.
First learn what your upload rate is. Mine is about 12Mbps up when things are good, but often my upload rate is inconsistent at certain times of the day. I believe my upload inconsistencies are due to "traffic shaping" when internet usage is high in the area where I live. I avoid live streaming during those times or I'll test to see if things are good and then will stream. The tool I use for checking my upload quality is at http://www.speedtest.net
My PC Specs:
CPU - Intel 6700K
Ram - 16GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR4-3600
Mobo - Asus Z170-AR
GPU - Asus Styx ROG 1080 TI
Here are my baseline OBS settings. Results will vary based on your computer's CPU and GPU power and of course your internet service speed and quality. I tweak them every once in a while, but if my stream gets bad I'll reset back to my defaults and here they are.
In the Settings\Output screen:
Output Mode = Advanced
Tab = Streaming
Audio Track = 1(Preference option)
Encoder = x264(CPU)
Enforce streaming service encoder settings = checked(enabled)
Rescale Output = checked / 1280x720
Rate Control = CBR
Use Custom Buffer Size = not checked
Keyframe Interval = 2 seconds
CPU Usage Preset = faster
Profile = high
Tune = (none)
x264 Options = blank
Tab = Audio
Track 1 Audio Bitrate = 128
Remaining tracks I do not use.
In the Settings\Video screen:
Base Resolution = 1920x1080(The resolution your display is at at the time of streaming.
Output Resolution = Same as base.
Downscale Filter = Lanczos
FPS Values = 30
In the Settings\Advanced screen:
Process Priority = High(This might be the default setting)
All other options are at defaults.
I really hope this help people out with stream quality. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you just want some feedback on your live streaming quality.
Happy Live Streaming on @DLive
