Everyone of us had reasons why we are here on this platform. I joined because 1, my work sometimes doesn't require much of my time and 2, I was really looking for an online job for additional income for my growing family. I never realized that once you become a #steemian, everything would change - like sleeping habit. Haha! Seriously, #steemit will change you for the better.
I spent my younger days in the province where planting vegetables were one of our way of killing time. (Horraaay fo 1980s kids) Our backyard was full of vegetables too. Even during elementary days where we were taught how to plant organic vegetables and to collect cow dung (yes we did) for fertilizer. Our school hours would start with attending our vegetable gardens. I remember how happy I was when my pechay grew healthy. It is actually one of the easiest vegetables to grow. We have spring onions, cabbages, tomatoes, eggplants and pechay which we (the students and the teachers) took home during harvest season.
25 years later today, our hometown is starting to develop. It is one of the province' towns that is progressive. Subdivisions and buildings are starting to grow. I am happy about it but what makes me sad is that what used to be farmlands are now full of commercial buildings leaving small portions of lot for farmers or even people who love planting. I was ecstatic when I saw a post of our neighbor in their farmland and realize that there are still available farm lots and on sale in our place where I can plant - my greatest dream is to have my own vegetable farm. It is my greatest joy to own a lot for farming.
Then I came up with this idea of buying a lot with my #steemit savings, okay, maybe not today because I still have some debts to pay but this inspires and motivates me to never give up #steemit. Once I buy my farmland I am going to put a small bahay kubo where I can relax and just do #steemit while surrounded by greens. Isn't it exciting to know that I can "work" at the comfort of my bahay kubo in my own farmland or even pick fresh organic vegetables from your own backyard? Hmm, time to stop dreaming and start earning!
