My new commentary! Youtube description copied below.
This is part of my #SocialismSongs series, a commentary to go with my song, "Is This What We Want?" which you can watch/listen to the music of here:

In this commentary video on my YouTube channel I discuss how celebrities have, through our technology addictions (especially social media - Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, Twitter), disproportionate, undeserved influence over our lives and our thinking. They are, on the whole, uniquely UNqualified to speak to most things of any real substance. I explain how and why this is, and how it intersects with socialist and communist ideology and higher power structures. I don't think everything is a conspiracy, but I do think we need some serious evaluation of our influences. A lot of what we hear ranges from utter misinformation from people who have a lot of influence but very little education or political/economic background and almost no real life experience, to actual propaganda. We need to learn to approach what we hear from the "cool kids" with a disposition of questioning and distrust.
This commentary, like all of mine, is not exhaustive or meant to me. It's me being a talk show host in a corner of the internet. I am up front that it is from a conservative, Catholic, millennial perspective. But even though it's casual, I have come to what I share through extensive reading, thoughtful study, and life experience. My hope is not to perfectly convince you of anything - I don't have time for these to be doctoral theses. What I consider success is a facilitation of opening your heart and mind to greater questions and true education, and perhaps helping along better civil discourse about facts and the things that matter.
We can be so much better - we can shed our shallowness and ideological conditioning and reflexes. We were made for the heights of human capacity. Let's do it.

Commentaries so far:
This is part of an ongoing "song theme" series I'll be doing throughout 2020 with regular commentary. I'll be sharing the gamut from politics, culture, and art, to love, injustice, and true humanity. There will be many different themes, and many not directly political.
Subscribe to follow along on my hike through these chaotic times. Civilization is still worth fighting for.
