Hi everyone's !!!
Continuation of posts 1...
When in 2004, on December 24, Sunday, the island of Dareut Pusong Lama Aceh was crushed by a tsunami wave as high as 100 meters, the beautiful island was damaged, if initially the area of the island measuring 2 hectares now lives 500 meters square meters wide, if viewed from in the distance there was only a small mound of land left.
Since then, Dareut Pusong Island has been deserted by visitors of all who like it, because its location is not as wide and beautiful as it once was.
The beautiful island is only left with a few hybrid trees such as coconut trees and several other wild plants.
However, day after day the island of Dareut Pusong has reappeared, if previously there had only been a mound of land, it has now gradually recovered and to this day forms two sides of the land in the form of small islands flanked by two estuaries namely Muara originating from water reservoir drainage, and the side of the estuary is released.
Every day the waves originating from the west side of the coast always add to the land, which results from the influence of large tides every year so that an island that is bigger than before was formed.
Now Dareut Pusong Island is two separate islands from before, if the tide is high then Dareut Pusong Island looks to be a charming island, but if the water recedes, two islands are connected to each other.
Inhabited by grasshopper groups
In the last few years, I personally along with fellow researchers from ITB Bandung Indonesia, tried to re-do the latest research in the framework of the completion of the Thesis, and based on information received by the island has been inhabited again by each insect species but most of the green grasshoppers In addition, there are also several other animal species in making their host land, such as;
- The seashore
- Wild cat
- Several species of mountain birds
- and several other small animal species.
In addition, on the island there is a large pond with a size of 100 square meters, the column was formed due to the influence of nature itself, but the water in the pond is salt water that is inhabited by several aquatic habitats such as,
- Crab Ranjungan
- Small Stingrays
- Small mullet fish
- Other small fish (local people call seureudeing fish).
Even though Dareut Pusong Island has some results for fishermen, the fishermen do not want to take the fish in the area, because it is still considered as the beginning of the island's recovery.
So to this day, the island of Dareut Pusong is still in the stage of maintenance by local residents and has not been opened to the public for the reasons as mentioned above.
Those are some of the stories that have been mentioned about the long journey of the beautiful island. Hope it is useful for all of us. Thank you very much.
