So, today was my 47th birthday, I'm starting to realise now that I am getting older, and now know that I can't do stuff that I once did in my 20's, although I am trying to get my fitness up and lose weight, as I think this is the main problem, I seem to find it a lot harder these days.
Anyhow, today started off very foggy indeed, I took the drone up to try and get a shot above the fog, but it was a little bit too dense, I could have done with another 100 feet to fly up, but this would have took me out of what is allowed legally, maybe I should have gone to a higher point, but didn't have the time as I was going to the seaside lol
Although I could just see the drone, it must have been cold, I basically took it up to 400 feet, then landed as there wasn't a picture to be had, I'm glad I did as ice had already formed on the propellors.
So off to the seaside, the fog was in patches, but as we got on to the North Yorkshire Moors, it was very very thick, even more so on the way back, to the point it was hazardous.
When we got to Whitby, it was a lovely sunny day, no sign of any for anywhere, and the light was lovely for photography.
We wandered around and headed up the 199 steps, it wasn't too busy, and was a nice leisurely stroll. At the top, we popped in to the coffee shop and had a cream tea, which was lush.
We then headed back down and wanted to walk on the pier (the one with the read building at the end) as it has only been back open to the public over the past couple of years, this had been cut off for years as lack of a bridge prevented anyone going on to it, but they have put a new bridge in place, which you can feel move as you go over it lol.
As we walked through the streets, it got really busy, it was almost like a summers day, gone are the days when only a few people went to the coast in the middle of winter.
We then headed for food and I got a phonecall from my brother, who had just got to Whitby and wanted to meet up, so we all had dinner together, as we'd been there most of the day, we decided to have a very steady drive home, as the night fell, the roads became more and more treacherous, although you still got the odd idiot on the road, no doubt with a ditch just waiting for them.
Overall today has been a great day, and a nice finish to my week off work, I am back in the morning, which I'm not looking forward to, although I do have 3 days off in the week, if the weather is ok, I'll be back out with the camera.
I hope you have liked this blog, and thanks for reading.
