Clitoria Ternatea Blue Butterfly Pea Flower also known as Blue Ternate is one of the most famous natural herbal medicine here in the Philippines.
I saw numerous post on social media that they sell this flower and make a tea. Some of those teas are available in restaurant that cost around 100 pesos ($2) which I think the price was kinda pricey. Also I am curious and amazed what I learned about the health benefits of drinking and eating the flower itself. Aside from that, this flower was given to us by a friend and the fact that it is a bunch of dried Blue Ternate flower which I saved lots of money. I do hope that it will have a better taste though.

HOW TO PREPARE BLUE TERNATE TEA
1.Get atleast 5-10 pcs of dried flower (depend on how big your mug is). Wash in water but do not leave it there. Just simply do it twice and put inside your mug.
2.Pour in boiling water and let it sit for 10 minutes. You may notice that the hot water instantly change it's color. I really like how it looks like.
3.If you have a tea bag, just put those dried flower inside the tea bag. Though you can either try this method of mine. After the required time, get all the flower out from the mug.
4.If you have honey you can add just to give a little sweetness. Also a lemon will give a little citrusy flavor into it.
You can also make a cold drink from this, just simply add ice cube and honey. Enjoy your refreshing healthy drink.
ACTUAL TASTE TEST
I would describe it as a very mild tea compared to other teas that I tried before. It has an earthy taste, a bit of citrus but not too strong. While drinking it I suddenly felt relax and calm. In addition to that I release many stomach gas and it really works a mild alternative medicine to relieve constipation. In conclusion, I would say that this is not a bad tea to try. Since the health benefits of it were to promising, I really do that my body will adapt into it.
I would definitely include it on my new drinking routine aside from water and black coffee. Alternative medicine like herbal are part of ancient medicine so, why not try these? Next time I'll be back to share some recipes that I will include Blue Ternate. Thank you for reading my work and hope you could learn something new today.
