I began blogging for the first time in 2004. I had a small blog on an popular site that functioned similarly to Facebook. I began blogging because I excelled in English coursework, and really liked being able to start a conversation online. Before I blogged online, I kept a journal with similar content. My high school dream was to write a book, and one day I may pursue this path.
I have blogged about art, science, cryptocurrency, investing and life issues for the past decade, and don't plan to stop doing so. It has paid well for a hobby, and a big reason I began blogging is that it takes no money to start. It takes time, a mind that is open to learn, intellectual curiosity and empathy to be a blogger. It is a creative outlet that is healthy and that grows in strength over time like a muscle does. One must exercise their writing muscle daily to grow.
I began blogging on Steemit in 2018, and enjoyed the community. At the time, Steemit was a very dynamic place where community was easy to build. Whales upvoted posts with regularity, and I received some really nice payouts. It has been an entertaining ride, and I have I the journey.
Today, I use blogging as a way to organize my thoughts, build community and make money. I recommend this hobby to anyone, for we all have something to share.
