What do you do when winter rages on but it is time for fun? Tubing!
River Valley
When cousins are visiting from outta town, it is time to plan some outdoor activity. -14 Celsius as a high? No problem.
A few miles out of town, there lies a place known as River Valley. In the summer, it is a golf course we love to play. In the winter? Tube sliding takes over as the golf goes indoors.
The wide angle shot show bright blue skies, 2 different hills, and not too many people because of the extreme cold. Perfect!
All you have to do is grab a tube and head up the conveyor belt to the top of the hill.
At the top, you wait your turn while lounging in your tube, and get ready to blast down the hill risking a face full of snow.
There has been almost too much snow and they have the hills well-groomed into tracks the tubes follow so you are not crossing into the path of others.
You can even gather together and go down as a small group. Saves a bit of time for everyone instead of going as a single and more fun.
We got a little creative in one of our formations. It was much funnier and more obvious to us but difficult what shape we were going for in the pic. As a hint, 2 blue balls in the background and 3 pink tubes in a row in the front. 3 guesses.
From the top of the hill, you can see your eventual destination if you zoom in on the photo and find the yellow barricade at the bottom.
Fun day of outdoor active fun for the young ones and the old fellas alike.
Cap the day off with a picture in the frame like a tourist. Can't imagine many tourists from the south venturing out in this cold snap but I would highly recommend it.
