For those who joined us recently and for anyone curious about what we do beyond events, tech and community, this post kicks off a short series dedicated to one of our core streams of work: advocacy.
Advocacy, for us, means one thing: opening informed, public conversations about topics that matter for Luxembourg’s future.
Our very first advocacy initiative was the Orange Heart Initiative. 🧡
Across the world, nations and institutions are beginning to recognize Bitcoin not just as an asset, but as a strategic reserve.
Inspired by these global developments, we launched the Orange Heart Initiative to open a democratic debate around a simple question: Should Bitcoin play a role in Luxembourg’s financial reserves?
Luxembourg has always been a pioneer in financial innovation.
As the global financial system evolves toward digital assets, we believe it’s legitimate, and necessary, to openly discuss whether Bitcoin could help strengthen Luxembourg’s economic sovereignty and long-term resilience.
The reasons behind the initiative were clear:
- Absolute scarcity: Bitcoin’s supply is fixed; no monetary expansion, no surprises.
- A hedge against fiat devaluation and inflation, especially relevant in a world of growing public debt.
- Unseizable, censorship-resistant wealth; unlike fiat and even gold, Bitcoin cannot be frozen by foreign powers.
- Global liquidity and resilience; a 24/7, borderless system operating outside centralized infrastructures.
At the heart of the Orange Heart Initiative was never a demand but an invitation.
We wanted to open a broad, inclusive conversation across Luxembourg, involving:
- Citizens and policymakers, to explore long-term implications.
- Business leaders, to reflect on strategic positioning.
- Academics and experts, to bring research and critical analysis into the debate.
We firmly believe that informed, transparent consultation is essential before any decision is even considered.
This post is just the starting point.
