The Old Tullamore Distillery is an Irish whiskey distillery that was founded in Tullamore, County Offaly, Ireland, in 1829. [3] The original house of Irish whiskey Tullamore Dew, its refineries closed in 1954, after years of financial difficulties, Irish whiskey at the beginning of the 20th century.
The Tullamore Dew brand was then sold to John Powers & Co. , which is now part of Irish Distillers, with production being transferred to the Midleton Distillery. In 2010, the brand was purchased by William Grant & Sons, which invested € 35 million for the construction of a new refinery at Tullamore. The new Tullamore refinery opened in 2014, bringing the production of whiskey back to Tullamore after a sixty year break. [4]
