Wow! What a stunning ride to Olympic Gold in the alpine combi for Marcel Hirscher in PYEONGCHANG, South Korea!
The gold medal was the only thing he hasn't won yet in his almost perfect career!
"Everyone [used to say], 'Nice career, but an Olympic gold medal is still missing,'" Hirscher said. "This is perfect, unbelievable."
The Austrian Ski hero grew up in the 800-person village of Annaberg, tucked in a valley in the Alps about 50 miles outside Salzburg, the grass in summertime grows greenest up the mountain.
“My good feeling for keeping the balance during ski racing comes from the place where I grew up,” Hirscher said. “Living in the mountains, learning to walk on rocks, was important to improve my stability.”
What a man! Now he has won almost everything he could possibly win in his perfect career!
Right now he is holding at 6 Overall World Cups, 6 times World Champion, now 1 Olympia Gold, and many, many more! This man is just unbelieveable and i am honored to live in the same small village as he does!
Hirscher is far from finished in PyeongChang. He will be a favorite in Saturday’s giant slalom and next Wednesday’s slalom.
