I don’t even know if I’m upset by this change or not - the 1 minute voting window. Probably not, as, with HF21 ready to kick in and drastically reduce author rewards, I’ve been looking at ways to reduce the effort I put in a post accordingly. Up to now, I did not pay much attention to the 15 minutes rule. If I wanted to vote on something, I did. Sometimes I even lost precious time leaving a comment before voting.
With the 1 minute voting window the optimum length of a post would be 200-250 words, so hopefully somebody will bloody well read before voting. If you need help, this is a good tool to measure the reading time for your post.
The only problem I have is that I’d like every one to cut the crap with quality content and content discovery. Nobody cares about content. I don’t know about bots, but for the manual curators it’s going to be a race against time. Be the first to vote to get a bigger piece of the pie! You can post your grandma’s apple pie recipe or your shopping list. With a 1 minute window nobody will bother to open your post!
Time’s up!
