Recently I've described only card games and RPG but today I found a new project RaceFi. It is a play2earn car racing game where players take the role of a super-fast car driver in order to be the best. I was intrigued by this project for two reasons. Firstly, we finally see more and more different genres of games entering the play2earn system, and secondly, the team of developers is really well prepared. Even though the game is not yet developed everything is planned and executed professionally. In addition, the developers of RaceFi brag about the creation of artificial intelligence in the game.
RaceFi is the first AI/ML integrated car racing game on Solana ecosystem. Within RaceFi's metaverse, players can earn while enjoying various game modes to satisfy the thirst for speed or make a profit by controlling in-game property and interacting with our ecosystem players
Game Play
By gameplay, we are talking about buying cars, fuel, the ability to choose game modes, routes, or strategies. The main objective of the game is to level up cars and unlock new upgrades in order to have an advantage over other players.
There are two main gameplay types planned for the game:
- Pure Race - in which you will be able to play against the computer and other players. In the case of PvE mode, players will directly drive and control the car, while in the case of PvP, players will have the ability to adjust their strategies and then the AI system will analyze the outcome of the race. Therefore, we have not only the possibility to drive the car but also to play manager.
- Battle Races - is a mode that allows players to upgrade their cars by adding guns and shields. In the battle itself, there will be no time limit and no finish line. It is a One Man Stand mode like in Fortnite.
Stages of the game
At the very beginning, each player must buy fuel. The price per gallon will be set to $1. Depending on the gameplay choice the player will have to spend 1 or 5 gallons to participate in the race.
the next step is to select a car and depending on its class the player will be able to select a race. After selecting the car, we move on to determining the race strategy. This element is currently the most interesting idea because I have not seen anything like this in racing games. Each race will be determined by road conditions such as water, frog condition, pit conditions, and fan sentiment. With this information, you will choose your Race Strategy. Components of Race Strategy include Race Posture, Engine Strategy, Tires to use, Racing Line, Breaking Technique, and Pit strategy. If your car does not have upgraded tires you may have to choose tires that are not optimal for the Race Conditions.
If you think it will be very easy to set the best strategy for a particular race, you may be surprised because there are currently over 3,000 potential combinations of Race Conditions and over 1,000 potential combinations of Race Strategies. And the game will not stay static, as twists and turns will be added to the game over time.The final stage is to receive feedback from the race. After a five-minute period, three winners will be determined. Also, each player will receive feedback from the entire race. During the race the cars may get damaged and will need to be repaired, the repair time should take between 2-6 hours.
Game Assets
There are many items that we can purchase in the game starting with the cars themselves which will have 5000 spread over 25 car models on the release date. As each car model contains 7 Factory Classes we can also include that calculation into the FDR. Rarity is derived from the model and color of the car, its position and number in the release, and the collection it is in.
Other NFTs available for purchase are Grage, Gas Station, Racetrack Land, and Billboard Land allowing you to receive extra money for owning them and allowing you to place ads.
Token Economy
The developers have currently set their sights on creating two tokens:
- RaceFi Token - this will be a Governance Token which will be a transferable representation of assigned governance and utility functions as defined in the protocol. The goal of introducing $RACEFI is to provide a convenient and secure mode of payment and settlement between participants who interact within the ecosystem on RaceFi without any intermediaries such as centralized third-party entity/institution/credit.
The posted description states that 200,000,000 $RACEFI tokens will be issued.
- RCOIN Token - this token will be the token that will be in the game. Each player will be able to earn it by winning races, betting, participating in races, selling analysis and predictions, or reporting bugs in the game. It can also be used to buy fuel, lease properties, or upgrade cars.
I really like the idea that the developers have decided to reward people who will pack tokens. Staking tokens will allow early access to the game and participation in airdrops.
RaceFi Team
As I already mentioned at first glance everything looks very good, but it's time to take a closer look at the team. The main founder and originator is Jhon Lee, who so far had nothing to do with game development, and gained his experience in the field of artificial intelligence. Also, the rest of the team consists of very young people who are building their experience while creating this game. Therefore, I recommend waiting for the situation to develop because I know how hard it is to have good driving mechanics or to create a proper game model. On the other hand, optimistically, the team currently has support from many companies including Exnetwork Capital or Genblock Capital.
Roadmap
Summary
RaceFi is a very interesting project and I will be happy to follow its development, however, it should be noted that the team still has a long way to go, and therefore I would recommend caution before the first purchase of tokens and checking all available information on the project yourself.
