Tonight I'm in Oss, the industrial town that's famous in the Netherlands for producing pork sausages, hormones and socialism. I was doing business in the area and it seemed appropriate to visit Oss after dark, in the rain.
A happy, unsuspecting pig on a street with shops in the center
Big Pharma in a small town, a story that started with extracting hormones from horse piss. This is the MSD office next to the MSD factory. The factory is close to the town center, within the paid parking zone.
This says more about socialism than any image of a factory would. The villa is a museum now, but it was built as a house for the son of one of the founders of Unilever. It's on the main road between the center and the train station.
