It's mind blowing to me that we are already in October, a year has flown by, literally flown. Here we are closing week 105, and that number seems insane to me. We had a beautiful week of amazing music, no doubt, and some awesome surprises too.
Without any more delays, here we go:
First Place.-
I just loved this entry, Monica just knows how to lure me in with her vocals, and she never misses. Of course it helps that I love this song to begin with, but her interpretation left nothing to be desired. What a treat, what a treat.
Oh and to be fair, Abel killed it on the guitar too...
Second Place.-
- Se trata de ti (original song)
Ilaz is just a musician's musician. And honestly, the superband he got himself for this entry is a force to be reckoned with. A great songwriter, with a superb band, How can I not love this? As always the falsettos going for the kill. There is absolutely no way you won't love this entry.
Third Place.-
- Animales
I got goosebumps with these lyrics I have to say, talk about powerful. The troubadour strikes again. It's been a little while since Wilins had shown up on my list, but of course, not for a lack of talent. Wilins has been one of the most consistent performers of this community and this week's entry really showcases his lyrical prowess.
Fourth Place.-
This was what I was referring to when I said an amazing surprise. The beautiful and talented joined us this week on guitar and floored everyone. Granted this is an unofficial entry (she disqualifies herself for prizes) but not putting her on this list would be a crime I do not want to commit.
Fifth Place.-
This was extremely impressive. I must confess I did not expect those harmonies, or that guitar work at all, it was just amazing to say the least. I hope we get to enjoy many more entries from David in the future, I see him becoming a force of the #openmic very soon.
Honorable Mentions
In no particular order, these are some of the performances I loved this week.... I'm super grateful for being someone who gets to listen to this talent.
My deepest of Gratitudes
I would like to personally thank
To our long time patron once again, thank you for backing this project as you have for so long. I hope seeing the community rally behind the contest that we love so much made you proud. We have something very special here, and you've been key for it to be what it has become.
Long live the openmic!!!

And that is it for me and week #105, not too late in the day, not like last time... Ready to do this all over again!!!
But hey friend, before you leave my post musical brother or musical sister, please know that despite the fact that we call this a competition, even though my post says first, second, third place, that is not what matters about the #openmic. In the end of the day the judges are just as human, as flawed and beautiful as everyone else on this planet. The ethos of this contest, of this community, is simply for us to have special place to share our passion for music, for us to laugh together, to cry together and explore emotions that everyday life seems to neglect in one way or another.
Every single one of you is valuable to me, so thank you for being part of my musical family...
Much love
