I don't understand
How host of Steemit's biggest
Contest gets low Steem...
This post is self explanatory and this does not necessarily reflect the views of the entire Open Mic Contest Team, but it is solely from my own views. You think us judges spend ridiculous amounts of time on Open Mic Contest every week???, true as that may be, is the sole main filterer of all entries of the lowest qualities to the highest and prepares such lengthy lists for us judges to judge through and that in and of itself is so tedious and time consuming. Keep in mind please that He never did this for the Steem, but from my perspective, I would like to see more support from the higher power influencers and the community as a whole to upvote his posts more often and consistently so that we show him our appreciation and acknowledge what he does and provides
Consider this. If you add up all three of the post he has put together for the See Who All Played list for week 75 he has done today, it's currently about 28 Steem, then we take away 25% of that for curation, then include the market dropping down further , and even if the market recovers, Steemit.com's algorithm doesn't seem to adjust quickly to rapid market changes and elevate the payout if steem were to rise out of the blue before the week is up, so the payout will probably be around. 10SBD and 3.5 Steem. That's a laughable amount when especially Steem and SBD are about 2.60$ each USD, so it's less than 36$ USD currently (wow...) and he even includes 100 Steem of his own money to the contest prize every week along with @Pfunk's 320 Steem sponsoring of the Open Mic Contest's rewards, and that's sad to say the least knowing how many hours or should I say days he puts into keeping this contest running... Talk about an uphill battle.
Go show his posts some love and support and appreciation. Even if he doesn't ask for it, I take notice and put my voice to use 'cause he does so much for the community and for Steemit.com. The three witnesses who support us continually are @Ausbitbank, @Pfunk, and @Teamsteem and they are the sole pillars of this contest without a doubt amd each have an important role to balance the workload involved. All three help to upvote the entries we receive from valid participants, but that definitely is a big portion of their VP every week, but they also need help as the open mic contest continues to grow and expand. @Ausbitbank also works behind the scenes developing systems to streamline the judging process as well and that is not to be overlooked or under-appreciated. Be sure to vote for each of them as witnesses for all they do for our Steemit community at large, especially the music community sector. If you know any whales or witnesses personally, reach out to them and please ask them why they aren't behind supporting this community based initiative.
Also, you can join the Open Mic Trail - Click Here to support musicians who enter into the Steemit Open Mic contest and earn curation rewards in the process. A win win situation.
