Why delve too much into this?
Richard stallman is the GodFather of our tech culture,
He once said (not exactly):
"It will be bad if we use software without knowing what is the code inside it"
What worse about that is, that code is always in the hand of developers meaning they can change the code as much as they want anytime. Crypto-trust are funded (((in the code))) given, not authority trust. So does the software.
I wouldn't even believe if Susan herself explain about this.
