Ophthalmic migraine is a form of headache characterised by the appearance of completely reversible visual and / or neurological symptoms. In particular, it is a headache of a migraine type with aura.
Cranial pain can be associated with nausea, dizziness, muscular strength disorders, increased lacrimation, photophobia and scintillating scotoma (flashes and flashes of light). These disorders can temporarily interfere with some activities, such as reading or driving, but the condition is usually not considered serious.
Ophthalmic migraine may be caused by incorrect vision defects (myopia, hypermetropia or astigmatism), a state of eye strain or eye conditions that make vision (cataract) difficult. In some cases, it can originate from an inflammation of the trigeminal nerve.
