I took a bit of a steemit break last week as and I were busy with the kids and doing our yearly garage sale. But a lot happened in that time and I can't wait to share it with you.
So, I had been planning this random act of cannabis for a new friend. She was running low on her meds and I had some flower still from Chris' last harvest, which we've smoked together before and it's a strain that works well for her. So my plan was to gift her a good bit of bud, but then I decided to upcycle an old glass jar from the dispensary to put it in.
I got side tracked during the week and finished the project, but couldn't figure out a good time to get it to her. On Friday morning she was going to stop by our garage sale, but as it got later in the day, I figured something must have come up. Yep, that something was her weekly medicine run ending up with her at home opening up an empty joint container. No meds inside. And no more money to buy more. She posted in our cannabis mom's group about her disappointment and I immediately texted her and told her I had a gift for her. Now was the time, she needed it.
She was super grateful and I was happy to have been able to help. It costs us nothing but time and water to grow a plant these days, so passing along the meds to those who need it feels right. 😊
So that was the planned OP I had for the week, but little did we know, fate was going to angel us right back.
At our garage sale, we had a lady that spent a long time shopping and then bargained us down to like $6 for all of it. No biggie, we were just cleaning out stuff we don't use anymore. And with 2 kids both outgrowing entire wardrobes at the exact same time, it's just necessary. But then, something strange happened. She took the things to her car and came back and handed Chris a $50 bill. 😯
She said it was god's money and that she was supposed to give it to us.
Well ok then.
The last ophumanangels story for the past week was one of those, "it's just what you do" situations...
We were dropping the kids off at pre school when chris noticed someone in the parking lot had a flat tire. As we were leaving, the mom with the flat was busy buckling in her youngest and seemed like she maybe didn't notice it. Chris called out to her to ask if she had a spare? And then she realized, oh shit! Her tire was flat? How did she even drive here, she pondered aloud. 😂
Chris offered to help her find the spare and put it on. She was amazed that he knew how to do all that. Even more amazed that he would stop to help. But that's just what he does. It's who he is. 😍
So that's that right? Nope. Today, as I picked up the kids from school, the director stopped me and handed me this little envelope. It was a thank you note and a gift card for a local pub! Woo hoo! Excuse for a date night! 🤩
That's a whole lotta #ophumanangels in one week! I have to say, it feels sort of strange to be on the receiving end, but still, totally awesome.
I'm grateful for this new kindness culture that I feel beginning to form. I'm grateful that I'm able to find ways to participate and spread the kindness, because obviously, it's contagious. 😉❤
Love and light to all who read this!
