Well, you're thinking about the store right? But nope it isn't about the store.
It's actually about the people here in the Philippines, who calls themselves hypebeast or sometimes the gucci gang. Most of them are kids and teens.
So, how to be one of them? Well, you have to wear
- Cap
- Jacket/hoodie
- Cool sneakers
- Mask (optional)
Or the comfy one
- T-shirt (preferably the Supreme brad shirts)
- Shorts
And for the crucial part, you must be familiar and have memorized their theme song, called "hayaan mo sila" by Ex battalion
I wrote this, not to judge them but to point out what are the good and bad things about this group, although I am not one of them but as far as I have observed,
Good
- They are not violent. No gang wars, killings, and robbery.
- A good distraction for the kids, especially to those who are facing family problems.
- You can create friends on the gathering.
- You can build your confidence through socializing, unlike to those kids who are always playing games at the computer, smartphones, and tablets.
Bad
- You'll be bashed a lot in the social media, well it's fine coz social media is sometimes cancerous. So there's need to mind those things, for as long as you didn't do bad things.
- A lot of kids keep on repeating their theme song (hayaan mo sila), which causes headache and annoyance in the neighborhood.
I hope, we the citizens would not blindly judge them. We have to guide them, for they are still kids. They want to feel acceptance and that they belong. So, there is no need to go harsh on them. Just let them enjoy as they explore new things.
I happen to remember my past, when I was a kid, I happened to be one of the emos out there (chuckles). But without the piercings and eye liners, just the hair, I swear. Coz my parents would get mad at me.
Thank you for your time. #hypebeast #guccigang
