Blimey, it's a weird thing when you have to stop yourself evangelising about steem.

I sent an email to my accountant the other day, just checking the pros and cons of buying cryptocurrencies through my personal or organisational accounts. Finally, I had understood what to do after this great post by Hive account@phoenixwren, and I went off and did it. The whole thing took less than an hour, including validating my identity and convincing my bank that it was me and I did know what I was doing.

Anyway, I thought I would just check in with my accountant and make sure I was keeping the right records etc. His response was lovely, including "HMRC [Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs] haven't really got to grips with it". I found myself wanting to write back saying people are earning their living through this, people are being fed and learning new skills through this, blimey, ordinary people in ordinary jobs are buying guitars and financing trips to Portugal through this.

The disconnect was extraordinary. But I tried not to get overexcited 😎
