You can make oregano (joy of the mountains) oil for yourself, but the process is easy but a bit lengthy.
- Boil some water in a sauce pan or pot.
- Place chopper oregano leaves (if the are thick leaved variety, use a meat tenderizer hammer being gentile) and a carrier oil (just enough to cover the leaves) into a sterile glass jar (canning jars work well.) Carrier oils include olive oil, grape seed oil or almond oil.
- Place the jar into the hot water for 5-10 min, the oil inside the jar heats up/ releases the natural oils from the oregano leaves.
4.Place the jar beside a sunny window for 2 weeks, shake it every few days, and then strain the resulting mixture.
