In the Greek version of the myth of Orion, the giant Orion pursues the Seven Sisters of the Pleiades (Pleiades - a star cluster located on the shoulders of Taurus ♉ ) wanting to either steal one of the beauties, or take it as a wife. The Pleiades rise first because they are in front, while Orion is behind. Everything looks like persecution and is quite logical. Orion always follows the Pleiades, people said.
The story of Orion and the Pleiades had the plot "Victim - Hunter" not only in other Greek myths, their "relationship" is interestingly told in the Australian myth - "Constellation of 7 sisters"

The Emu sisters believed that now they were rid of the Wanjin forever and they would not be in any danger. But the men from the Dingo totem had a keen sense of smell and soon found a refuge where the sisters were hiding.
The Vanjins knew that the sisters would not leave their dwelling voluntarily and that they would not be able to lure them out of there.
And then they decided to set fire to the forest. The smoke will drive Ema out of the dwelling into an open place, and when they run out, the fire will burn their wings, and they will not be able to fly. That's when the Wanjins will catch them. Soon a forest fire broke out. He quickly made his way to the Emu sisters' hideout. The women climbed out from under the boulder and found themselves in the midst of the fire. The fire burned their wings, and they could not rise into the air. But the plans of the Vanjins were not destined to come true. When the sisters realized that they could not fly, they began to jump over the burning bushes and suddenly felt that their legs were lengthening, becoming stronger and stronger. With a big leap, they overcame a strip of burning forest and, pursued by the Vanjins, rushed to the ends of the earth in the hope of getting rid of their hated fans.
But the Wanjins kept up the pace, didn't give Em a break. Then the sisters, driven to despair, broke away from the earth, rose into the sky and turned into stars. The Daens called this constellation Meia-Mei, now people know it as the Pleiades, or the constellation of the Seven Sisters. Following the Emu sisters, the Wanjins took to the skies. This is how the constellation Orion was born.
Traveling through the sky, the Vanjins still do not give up hope of catching up with the Emu sisters, but so far they have not succeeded. The sisters are always the first to reach the western slope and hide from their pursuers beyond the horizon. They are safe for a while, but then the Wanjins discover them and start chasing them again. And so every night. And on the ground, emu birds still cannot fly, but
they run faster than anyone on their long, strong legs.
Similarly, the image of Orion as a hunter is common in Africa and is found in many European peoples.
