Yes, saying the same words over and over again is vain repetition.

The Lord's Prayer is a MODEL of how we should pray. We shouldn't recite that. It serves no purpose.

Pray using the ACTS model of:

adoration - praising God for who He is
confession - confess your sins to GOD. confessing to a priest is meaningless.
thanksgiving - give thanks to God for the things that He has done.
supplication - pray for the needs and desires of others and yourself
