I've collected quite a few images since resettling in the states with a handful of them captured from behind the steering wheel. When you've tallied over 10 thousand miles on your vehicle in less than seven weeks, it isn't hard to do--there's a lot going on out there in 2020.
The title of this article is also the punchline. I'm about to share a variety of images with you we've captured both on foot, as well as from the driver seat, and then I'll repeat the title--'punchline.'

Somewhere in Alabama
After not meeting up with and
in Atlanta where the four of us did not enjoy lunch together, Pura and I cut across Alabama before reaching Chattanooga, Tennessee. There we got a room for the night.
I don't know where they're en route to with the above trailered vehicle but considering the current state of Louisville, Kentucky, I have my suspicions. The stunning snapped that cover image as well as this close up:

"Tax Dollars"
I forwarded the previous images to an Irish friend of mine living in England to which he responded:

Considering he's from Ireland, a country whose citizens are notorious anarchists, I wasn't expecting that response. I then sent him the following image of my personal protection along with this caption:
'Even the cute little pink one will stop the bad guy. When you come visit us in America, don't look in Pura's purse or the center console, I'll spook the P/C out of you.'

2nd Amendment. Dec. 15, 1791 - Right To Keep And Bear Arms
I was caught even more off-guard by the Irish natives response to that one. In his own words, I received the following message:

Recognizing his aggravation, I left that one alone for awhile until he, once again, commented about cops murdering innocent people in my country. ithink he was temporarily offended when I said, 'in Ireland, they fear rabbits.'

Aawwwwwe
Pura's always wanted to see the "mossy trees" in Savannah, Georgia. She's mentioned countless times how magical it would be to view them first hand. Seeing how Savannah is directly up the coast from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, we decided to spend a night there before not meeting up with you know who the following afternoon in Atlanta.

"Mossy Trees"

Atlanta, Georgia
Prior to leaving Florida where we spent two weeks playing the quarantine game at the beginning of August, we spent two days on the gulf side of the state--my favorite side. I've spent several weeks in Florida during my 45 years of existence and Tampa Bay is still my favorite city in the state. The atmosphere, the culture, and just the overall vibe from the community on the west coast of Florida is substantially different in comparison to Miami on the east coast. Racial tension on the east coast is indisputable, it's so apparent you can practically taste it, whereas the community on the west coast at least pretends to be cordial.
I can't go to Tampa Bay without spending at least one day in Clearwater. I mean, c'mon, the name of the coastal city is Clearwater and the clarity of the sea is surrounded by white sand. Pura and I enjoyed freshly caught ahi tacos under one of those umbrellas on one of those white sandy beaches.

Lunch Time in Clearwater
Other than those two days, we spent the remainder of our quarantine time on the beaches of Ft. Lauderdale, roughly 20 miles north of Miami--my first time on the east side of the state. It wasn't until that stay I pieced together these 30 year old lyrics which I know the majority of you reading this can karaoke like a rockstar wether or not you care to admit it.

"A1A"

"Beach Front Avenue!!"
"Girls are hot wearin less than bikinis"
"Rockman lovers drivin Lamborghini's"
(You know all the words, too, don't Ice me)
Eventually we made it to Nashville. From there we added a few more required road trips across Tennessee and back before our most recent road trip to California and back for a combined total of 10,212 miles. To those of you curious what 10 thousand miles worth of kamikaze bug guts looks like--I got you...

Runs Like A Champ!
The view from the passenger seat was a little distracting for a moment until I got it to the dealer the other day because what's a brand new car without a brand new busted windshield??

Not Clear (water)
In the six years Pura and I have been together, we've road tripped coast to coast in the U.S two times and although traveling is exciting, it's also exhausting. We're happy to be home and anxious to begin this next phase.
During all of our adventures and encounters the past two years, through the numerous language barriers, borders and cultures, one thing is consistent and more apparent than ever. Wether you're coming, going, eyes forward or looking in the rear-view mirror, there's more of these semi trucks on the road than anything else:
