"Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
I want everything right now, or to be honest, I wanted it yesterday. I lack patience, and that is a serious problem. Why is it that it gets so hard to find something that you want for Christmas as you grow older? We have everything we need. Why do we have everything we need? Because we buy it immediately as we discover that we have a need. We don't wait for anything.
But, if we adopt the perspective and the pace of nature, we suddenly realize that we don't need to hurry. The nature is moving in its own way. It depends on the climate and the seasons, meaning that it throws down its leaves during autumn, and then dresses up in fantastic colors as spring comes around. The seeds in the ground also work at its own pace. Isn't it amazing how you put a seed in the ground, and it often takes days, weeks, or months for something to come out of the ground? The seed is working at its own pace, and we accept it.
Shouldn't we try to accept and receive this mentality in our own lives as well? We need patience and we need to be relaxed. The seed isn't stressed because it has to wait some weeks before it comes out of the ground. It just lies there and it does its thing.
