Layer by layer the Allowistic Love Bus takes shape.
Each time I paint on it I learn more. I love the way it feels real on the canvas I am pulling it out with each brush stroke. I am really enjoying mixing the abstract work with the realism. It is a fun juxtaposition. The mind can feel the hook of the real and be drawn in to explore the abstract. I love working on paintings like this where I can render reality in a new way.
The paint table you see here is an old door my friend was going to throw away because it has a big hole in it. I took it and put it on top of a smaller table and turned it in to a giant pallet. As you can see in the photo I mix my paint right on the door/table. I like to do this as it is free and a good way to Artcycle stuff.
I have more work to do on this painting for it to really pop the way I see it in my head. I have already started on the VW bug with surfboards on the roof as my next in the VW series. This on is part of the collection. She was riding home on her bicycle one day and noticed a vw bus painting she liked and so I told her I will paint you one my love... this is the work in progress of that conversation...
Acrylic paint is very interesting how you can build it up in layers light to dark or dark to light this gives a vibrancy to the painting as if it is partly floating between the two states of being. Fun is the motive behind this painting and the color RED. There is a part of the story that started out with one of my very early waves on anchor when I asked what is your favorite color.... and Sylvia aka replyed with the most sexy voice and accent Red, the color of passion..... I believe I panted the red of this painting on a steam of periscope. I have tested out many platforms to share my art, and by far Steem is my favorite. Thank you for taking this journey with me on the Allowistic Love Bus.
