Hello and welcome to another episode of Painting miniatures where I will show you through the process of painting this little mini from the Scibor Miniatures range - Moscal Dwarfs (Alternatives for the forge world Chaos Dwarfs).
Paints you'll need:
As always I use Vallejo and Citadel paints for my works and here is the already well known recipe for the non metallic metals and skin/fur etc.
Let's get to painting!
I think I did some of the skin for a few models before just for the sake of it and this one seemed like half based so I decided to start with the metal and then finish the skin. As you can see there is no skin layer on one side of the mini at all. For the non metallic metal I use a mixture of Dark Sea Blue, Ivory and glazes of Tank Brown for a more satin finish.
Then I finished the skin. I mix Cadian Fleshtone with some Dark Sea Blue to give it more of a darker tone and then highlight with Ivory. I add a little bit of Mephiston red as a glaze to bring a bit more colour to the skin at the end.
The leather on the back I painted by layering lighter tones of brown and highlighting the edges with almost pure white.
Finally I did the fur with some of the mixtures of the lighter brown colours I used for the leather. The axe is made with Dawnstone, Abadon Black and Ivory White. The Gold ornaments are made with Japanese Uniform, Black and White.
The base came with the model so I didn't have to use one of the ones I've sculpted myself.
