Hello Paint Time fans!
Today I have a painting I created for my sister who's name is Carrie. She really liked the other ocean painting I did, but her favorite color is a light blue turquoise. I decided I would try to do the painting again, but use a lighter blue for the water.
I began this painting a little different, since I did a sun set which I then reflected into the water. The horizon and waves I did much like the other.
The process is to make the colored lines going down from the horizon dark then light until you reach the beach. You then go back in adding light and dark to make the waves. The foam of the waves is placed on the canvas with a palette knife.
In this painting, I made the sand a bit darker, and added a star fish.
I don't advise making the darker beach. If you are trying to make sand, go with the yellow ochre and add white until you get the color you like best. The gold tone of that color really makes a pretty color of sand.
This week I found a site that caters to artists. The site is called Cafe', and you can find calls as an artist, or organize calls as an organization to find artists.
You can upload your art to the site and enter contests, apply for grants, or find ideas for your next work of art!
I did another silhouette painting of . I used the painting to practice flowers I learned to draw. I have entered a contest that if I am selected, will exhibit my painting online.
Apparently when you are an artist, you need to display your art, so others see it. You have to frame some stuff... I'm not sure about all that yet.
But I am learning!
I have a back log of videos, so I will get them out soon I hope!!!
I hope you are enjoying following along as I learn to paint. If you are painting along with me, or the artists I am painting along with, please leave a pic of your creation in the comments.
Also be sure to subscribe to my You Tube channel, and hit that bell if you'd like to be notified when I upload a new video!
And now... it's Paint Time!
