It’s a chilly day!
I can’t complain though, it’s nothing like the cold they endure in some parts of Canada! Happy to be here where it’s usually sitting around zero degrees most of the time.

I’m still sketching out the garden plans, starting to figure it out though!
I know where I’m going to put a few things, but still no idea with others. The soil here is.... not plentiful. It’s like solid rock, with lots of smaller rocks, and a little soil sprinkled on top. Not ideal. Pretty typical in many parts of the island, so I’m looking at building all raised beds and creating new soil mostly from compost.
I will probably get some purchased bags of soil and I already picked up peat moss as well.
I don’t usually use peat because of the controversial issues regarding it, but felt I was in a pinch and picked up two bags in the fall just in case. It’s been nice in the seed trays mixed with potting soil.
Plants are happy.
My cats ate many of my Tom Thumb pea plants, I think I’ll pop a few more seeds in and change the location. Hopefully be able to get some to flower this time!
Friggin cats. They are 100% why I can’t keep plants alive in the house! 😂
