This magnificent structure is the product of the love of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. Shah was very much in love with his beautiful and smart wife Mahal. This love was so deep that even when Mahal was nine months pregnant, they were not separated for a second even though her husband went to war. As this journey continued, Shah, who could not bear the pain of Mahal, who lost his life during childbirth, wanted to create a paradise on earth where he met his wife. For this reason, he had the Taj Mahal built, the project prepared by Mimar Sinan's students. The most interesting thing is the use of precious stones such as ruby, emerald and diamond as material in this structure.
