The RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) the global certification body for “sustainable” palm oil has been a fraud and along with PepsiCo perpetuates Indofood’s worker exploitation, showing how ongoing exploitation and abuse are rampant in RSPO-certified oil from palm oil giant Indofood. It is the second year in a row investigations have shown abuses like the use of child labor on palm oil plantations. Indofood, the company exposed, is a massive Indonesian company, the sole partner for PepsiCo in Indonesia, producing all PepsiCo, Frito-Lay, and Quaker branded snacks in the country. It is also a probable supplier to Unilever, Kellogg's, Mars and Hershey's. A billion dollar industry built on child labor and deforestation. The RSPO has has failed to enforce its own standards. With no regulations we are at the whims of the oligarchs in oh so many things.
