Hello friends of Hive, today I am going to show you the largest tree fruit in the world, its scientific name is Artocarpus Heterophyllus, but it is known by many names such as jackfruit, jackfruit, nanca, nanjea or panapén. It is native to Southeast Asia and very common to see it in local markets.
Hola amigos de Hive, hoy voy a mostraros la fruta de árbol más grande del mundo, su nombre científico es Artocarpus Heterophyllus, pero se le conoce por muchos nombre como jaca, yaca, nanca, nanjea o panapén. Es originaria del Sudeste asiático y muy común verla en los mercados locales.
It is considered the largest fruit in the world because there are pieces of up to fifty kilos, although their usual weight is between 30 and 35 kilos. The tree is very vigorous, evergreen, with a bright green color and compact, ascending branches.
Es considera la fruta más grande del mundo porque existen piezas de hasta cincuenta kilos, aunque su peso habitual está entre 30 y 35 kilos. El árbol es muy vigoroso, de hoja perenne, con un color verde brillante y ramas ascendentes y compactas.
When you first see it, it is not an appetizing fruit. Its size is exorbitant for what we usually expect from a fruit: 90 centimeters long by 40 wide. In addition, when it is not yet mature, its greenish color does not encourage sinking the tooth because it has a rough and bumpy texture. And when it ripens, its smell is not attractive either and the color does not improve, it is a dark brown similar to a ripe banana.
Cuando la ves por primera vez no es una fruta apetecible. Su tamaño es desorbitado para lo que habitualmente esperamos de una fruta: 90 centímetros de largo por 40 de ancho. Además, cuando todavía no está madura su color verdoso no incita a hincarle el diente porque tiene una textura rugosa y con protuberancias. Y cuando madura, su olor tampoco es atrayente y el color no mejora, es de un marrón oscuro similar al plátano maduro.
