If Knowledge is becoming more accessible then why so many stupid people?

I am not into writing LONG paragraphs that includes a thesis.

Those that are intelligent will question and seek answers to those questions. If questions are unresolved, at least you have arrived to a more mature position to ask those questions.

At no other point in history has knowledge been at our fingertips; yet control mechanisms are in place to dumb down a populace that WISHES to be dumbed down.

I myself am a victim and a willing participant at times. PS4, movies, consumable carcinogens.. etc..
