Los Angeles County Firefighter J. von Harz has a daughter that was diagnosed in 2013 with a rare kidney cancer. She has been battling cancer for most of her life and has undergone multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation. However, those treatment options eventually caused liver damage and were no longer an option for her.
Her parents went looking for alternative treatments and admit that the combination of an organic, sugar-free diet and cannabis oil have been tremendously effective in helping her.
Her parents say that the new treatment has shown promise in shrinking her tumors.
Firefighters from all over the country helped to raise funds for the family several years ago, the family still today years later believes that diet and alternative therapies are what's working best.
A Story Of Cannabis Healing
They've been able to share their story, with four other families, who have all used cannabis to help them fight back against cancer. Those stories are detailed in the Netflix documentary Weed The People that came out last year.
“This isn’t fringe science anymore,... Studies have shown that cannabis can help kill cancer, in conjunction with chemotherapy, and also help fight the side effects of chemo.” - Los Angeles pediatrician Dr. B. Goldstein
Jim and Jaclyn von Harz eventually made the decision to stop chemotherapy for their daughter altogether, fearing that it would kill her before the cancer did and they started giving her high doses of both THC and CBD oils every day, 400mg.
After a couple of months they could see from scans that the tumors had either disappeared or greatly shrunk in size and their daughter hasn't shown any symptoms or signs of cancer since then either.
There may be many out there who have stories of sugar free diets and cannabis therapy helping them to seek healing from a wide range of illness, including cancer, but many scientists insist still that more investigation is needed to prove that either would be effective at lowering your chances of cancer.
