Whoever is free from having sucked socks and other types of flattery, let him cast the first stone. We have all, at one time or another in our lives, been forced to exaggerate our compliments and praise for people who may not have really deserved it.

It occurs in all areas and social status, among family and friends, but especially in the workplace and especially in politics. Each region of the world has its particular way of describing with very characteristic phrases, this social phenomenon very widespread and practiced through the ages.

That is why in the beginning God said: "With the pain of your hands - from pulling (flattering) so much - you will earn your daily bread"

There will be those who indignant will say when reading the post, that they would never fall so low, the problem is that many times human beings commit unconscious or almost imperceptible acts to survive.

In this sense, as in all things in this world, there are always levels that are going to depend on the degree of intensity with which these actions are exercised, depending on the desired effect.

Here is a non-exhaustive and rough classification of these levels of flattery:

1.- Chupar media: the term is used all over America, in my personal opinion it is the first step in the world of jaleo, a very spontaneous act of flattery devoid of bad intentions, as common and ordinary as drinking coffee, which many sip mixed with a portion of cloth. There is no specific victim, since by its low intensity it can be practiced with anyone depending on the occasion and what is intended to achieve.

2.- Pulling mecate (balls) or something else: this phrase is a Venezuelanism that emerged in the colony, here the intensity increases, the degree of attachment is greater, so people with this tendency seek to cling to certain soft areas of the body. There is already a selected subject or victim and the act, although premeditated, does not yet contain vile feelings. It is less spontaneous and pursues climbing objectives in the social scale, work or get perks.

3.- Kissing the baby's buttocks: although it sounds very tender, this type of subject is in the lower left quadrant of the graph, which could be said to be very negative, they are almost always in defense plan to avoid a greater evil or catastrophe. It occurs a lot in the workplace between employees and bosses, and for many it is an art in every sense of the term, since those who do it usually walk on the razor's edge.

4.-Crawling like a worm: This is the most advanced level of flattery, it is very often seen in politics and crime. They are beings who have lost their dignity and judgment. They are capable of doing anything for their master, and when I say anything I mean literally. They are the henchmen, henchmen, hitmen, acolytes, cronies and other crawling vermin, belonging to the fauna of the official world and the mafia.

These are the four main forms of flattery that exist, suddenly there are many more, however, these four cover as I said other nuances and degrees that may exist, but the idea was to show the most important ones.

El que esté libre de haber chupado media y otros tipos de lisonja que tire la primera piedra. Todos alguna vez en la vida, nos hemos visto en la obligación de exagerar nuestros halagos y elogios para con personas que en realidad quizá no lo merecían.

Se da en todos los ámbitos y estatus sociales, entre familiares y amistades, pero sobre todo en la parte laboral y en especial en la política. Cada región del mundo tiene su particular manera de describir con frases muy características, este fenómeno social muy extendido y practicado a través de los tiempos.

Por eso en el comienzo Dios dijo: “Con el dolor de tus manos –de tanto jalar (adular)- ganaras el pan de cada día”

Habrá quienes indignados dirán al leer el post, que ellos nunca caerían tan bajo, el problema es que muchas veces los seres humanos cometemos actos inconscientes o casi imperceptibles para sobrevivir.

En este sentido, como en todas las cosas en este mundo, siempre hay niveles que van a depender del grado de intensidad con que se ejerzan estas acciones, dependiendo del efecto deseado.

Aquí una clasificación no exhaustiva y a groso modo de estos niveles de adulación:

1.- Chupar media: el termino se utiliza en toda América, en mi opinión personal es el primer paso en el mundo del jaleo, un acto de lisonja muy espontaneo despojado de mala intención, tan común y corriente como tomar café, que muchos sorben mezclado con una porción de tela. No hay una víctima específica, ya que por su baja intensidad se puede practicar con cualquier persona según la ocasión y lo que se pretenda conseguir.

2.- Jalar mecate (bolas) u otra cosa: esta frase es un venezolanismo que surgió en la colonia, aquí ya la intensidad aumenta, el grado de apego es mayor, por lo que las personas con esa tendencia buscan aferrarse a ciertas zonas blandas del cuerpo. Ya hay un sujeto o víctima seleccionada y el acto aunque premeditado todavía no encierra sentimientos viles. Es menos espontaneo y persigue objetivos trepadores en la escala social, laboral o conseguir prebendas.

3.- Besar el pompis del bebe: aunque suene muy tierno, este tipo de sujetos están en el cuadrante inferior izquierdo del gráfico, que se podría decir que ya es muy negativo, casi siempre están en plan de defensa para evitar un mal mayor o catástrofe. Se da mucho en el ámbito laboral entre empleados y jefes, y para mucho es un arte en todo el sentido del término, ya que quienes lo hacen por lo general caminan en el filo de la navaja.

4.-Arrastrarse como gusano: Este es el nivel más avanzado de adulación, se ve con mucha frecuencia en la política y en el crimen. Son seres que han perdido su dignidad y criterio. Son capaces de hacer cualquier cosa por su amo, y cuando digo cualquier cosa lo digo literalmente. Son los esbirros, secuaces, sicarios, acólitos, compinches y demás bichos rastrero, pertenecientes a la fauna del mundo oficial y la mafia.

Estos son las cuatro principales formas de adulación que existen, de repente hay muchas más, sin embargo, esas cuatro abarcan como ya dije otros matices y grados que pudieran existir, pero la idea era mostrar los más importantes .
